Apple Debuts 'Creator Studio' Suite for $12.99 Monthly Subscription

Apple has announced a new subscription bundle called Creator Studio, providing access to six professional creative applications along with premium content for its iWork suite.
Priced at $12.99 monthly or $129 annually, the bundle includes access to Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro on Mac and iPad, plus Motion, Compressor, and MainStage on Mac. It also unlocks premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac will be added to the bundle at a later date. College students and educators qualify for a discounted rate of $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
Apple Creator Studio launches on January 28. All new subscribers will receive a one-month free trial.
Alongside the bundle announcement, Apple detailed new features coming to these creative applications.
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad gains Transcript Search for finding audio clips, Visual Search to locate specific moments using descriptions, and Beat Detection. The iPad version also introduces Montage Maker for quick edits and Auto Crop for intelligent reframing.
Logic Pro is receiving new capabilities including Synth Player, Chord ID, an expanded sound library, and natural language search.
Creator Studio also includes MainStage, which transforms a Mac into a live performance instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig.

The bundle also provides Motion for creating 2D and 3D motion graphics, and Compressor for customizing export settings alongside Final Cut Pro and Motion.

These tools are now enhanced with advanced intelligence to augment and accelerate workflows,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
A Creator Studio subscription unlocks a new ‘Content Hub’ within Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, providing high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations. It also includes new premium templates and themes for these applications.
Subscribers get access to beta features in Keynote, such as generating presentation drafts from outlines and creating notes from slides. In Numbers, Magic Fill uses pattern recognition to generate formulas and auto-populate tables.
Apple notes that Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage will remain available for one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. Free versions of Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Freeform will continue to be offered.
