Apple iOS 27 Unveils AI-Powered Dietary Tracking and Smart Tag Management

Apple is set to significantly enhance Apple Intelligence with the upcoming iOS 27 update. According to the latest developer code, the company is pushing visual intelligence to new heights, with applications extending beyond smartphones to future wearables like smart glasses and camera-equipped AirPods.
The core of these updates is making devices more context-aware. With visual recognition, iOS 27 helps users process real-world information more efficiently, seamlessly converting physical text and images into digital assets.
Visual Intelligence Becomes a Daily Essential
On the health front, iOS 27 lets users scan food nutrition labels with the camera. The system automatically extracts key data like protein and calories and syncs with the Health app, offering an automated way to track dietary intake.
The system also gets smarter at reading printed materials. Beyond recognizing dates, it can now identify phone numbers and addresses on flyers or business cards, prompting a quick "Add to Contacts" option—eliminating manual entry.
Streamlining Office Tasks
For heavy web users, Safari gains intelligent tab group management. The system automatically names tab groups based on their content, helping users organize and retrieve information faster amidst large volumes of data.
Apple Wallet also gets an upgrade, enabling users to create digital passes by scanning physical tickets or gym membership cards. These features are expected to debut at WWDC in June and ship with the new iPhone in September.
