Claude by Anthropic Integrates with Canva for AI-Powered Design Creation and Editing

Canva users can now generate, edit, and manage their designs by simply describing their needs to Anthropic’s Claude AI. This collaboration is among the latest integrations that let Claude users tap into third-party services—such as Figma, Notion, Stripe, and Prisma—without leaving their chat with the AI assistant.
Starting today, Claude users can use natural language prompts to handle design tasks in their connected Canva account—from building presentations and resizing images to auto-populating ready-made templates. The integration also helps users search for keywords across Canva Docs, Presentations, and brand templates, then summarize them directly through Claude. The feature requires both a paid Canva plan (starting at $15/month) and a Claude subscription ($17/month).
Anthropic is leveraging the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server launched by Canva last month, which grants Claude secure access to users' Canva content. Often called the “USB‑C port of AI” apps, MCP is an open‑source framework that helps developers seamlessly link AI models to a variety of tools and services. Companies such as Anthropic, Microsoft, Figma, and Canva are adopting MCP to prepare their platforms for an increasingly AI‑driven tech ecosystem.
“Rather than uploading or manually moving ideas across apps, users can now generate, summarize, review, and publish Canva designs—all inside a Claude conversation,” said Anwar Haneef, Head of Ecosystem at Canva, in a statement to The Verge. “MCP enables this with a simple toggle in settings, representing a major step toward intuitive, AI‑first workflows that unify creativity and productivity.”
Claude is the first AI assistant to support Canva design workflows through MCP. However, it also connects to other design platforms via a similar partnership with Figma, unveiled last month. A new Claude integrations directory also launches today on web and desktop, offering users a clear overview of all available tools and connected apps.

Endlich! 🎨
