Anthropic's Banned Model Unlocked, Launching in Weeks

Anthropic announced on May 28 that, thanks to advances in developing more robust security measures, it plans to roll out a new AI model with Mythos-level capabilities to all customers in the coming weeks.
Notably, the company had previously taken an extremely cautious stance on models of this caliber, publicly stating that Mythos was too powerful and carried too much risk to release to the public. The rapid progress in security defenses clearly provides the key support needed to unlock this previously restricted capability.
Alongside the major product announcement, Anthropic also unveiled another important upgrade on the same day, launching the latest version of its flagship model, Claude Opus 4.8.
According to the official description, the new Claude Opus 4.8 has undergone deep optimization and improvements across several industry-standard benchmarks, building on the strengths of its predecessor. Moreover, this version significantly enhances team collaboration efficiency in real-world applications. The upgraded model is now available for purchase at the same price as before, with no price increase.
