AMD debuts next-generation AI PC chips for gaming and productivity at CES event.

AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su opened her CES 2026 keynote by outlining the future of computing: making AI accessible to all.
In line with this vision, AMD introduced a new range of AI processors, emphasizing the company's belief that AI-powered PCs represent the next major evolution in personal computing.
At the annual CES conference on Monday, the semiconductor leader unveiled the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor, the newest iteration of its AI-enhanced PC chips. According to AMD, this latest Ryzen series delivers 1.3x faster multitasking and 1.7x quicker content creation compared to rival processors.
These advanced chips are equipped with 12 CPU cores—individual processing units within the main processor—and 24 threads, which are independent instruction streams.
This marks a significant upgrade from the Ryzen AI 300 Series processor launched in 2024. AMD first began manufacturing the Ryzen processor line in 2017.
During a recent press briefing, Rahul Tikoo, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Client Business, reported that AMD has expanded its AI PC platform partnerships to over 250. This reflects a doubling of growth within the past year, he noted.
“Looking ahead, AI will become a multi-layered fabric integrated into every aspect of computing at the personal level,” Tikoo stated. “Our AI-enabled PCs and devices are set to revolutionize the way we work, play, create, and connect.”
