On May 8, Amazon officially launched its next-generation generative AI assistant, Alexa+, in Germany, marking another key step in the company's global AI strategy. The service had already been rolled out in several countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria.
Alexa+ will first be introduced to German users through a pilot program. Over the coming weeks, local users will gradually receive official invitations to experience it. During the testing phase, all invited users can enjoy this cutting-edge product at no cost.
The subscription model after the testing period is already taking shape. Under Amazon's latest policy, Prime members can continue to use Alexa+ for free, while non-Prime users will need to pay a monthly fee of 22.99 euros. This differentiated pricing strategy highlights the clear logic behind tech giants' approach to monetizing generative AI.
In terms of technical performance, Alexa+ is built on generative AI technology, showing significant improvements over traditional voice assistants in dialogue logic, personalized services, and complex task execution.
