To meet the soaring demand for computing power in the age of AI Agents, Alibaba Cloud has announced a significant upgrade to its Coding Plan subscription service. This update introduces four premier programming models—Qwen3.5-Plus, Qwen3-Coder-Next, GLM-4.7, and Kimi-K2.5—while setting a new, highly competitive price benchmark for the developer community.
Free Model Switching Eases AI Agent "Compute Anxiety"
As AI tools like Claude Code and OpenClaw gain traction, AI Agents have emerged as the primary platform for large language models. However, when handling complex tasks, these Agents require multi-step planning and repeated tool calls, causing Token usage to skyrocket. Research indicates a single Agent can consume 100 to 1000 times more computing resources than a standard chatbot.
To tackle this challenge, Alibaba Cloud's Coding Plan lets users freely switch between multiple top-tier models without altering their subscription or setup. It provides frequent developers with a valuable, flexible "compute resource pool."
Price Competition Heats Up: 18,000 Requests for Just 7.9 Yuan in First Month
To make the service even more accessible, Alibaba Cloud has launched an attractive promotion. New users can now get a 20% discount on their initial purchase:
Lite Package: 18,000 requests in the first month for only 7.9 yuan.
Pro Package: 90,000 requests in the first month for only 39.9 yuan.
Following the earlier price reduction of the Qwen3.5-Plus API on the BaiLian platform to 0.8 yuan per million Tokens, this Coding Plan launch means developers can access high-performance programming assistance comparable to Gemini3 for less than 5% of the market cost for similar models. This move is set to accelerate AI programming tool adoption among SMEs and individual developers, advancing the era of "Model Freedom."
