Alexa Plus Early Access Launches, Lacks Some Features
Amazon has officially rolled out its AI-powered Alexa Plus, but for now, it's only accessible to a "small number" of customers, according to Amazon spokesperson Kristy Schmidt, who spoke to The Verge. The early access page reveals that Alexa Plus doesn't yet include all the features Amazon flaunted at its recent devices event. You won't be able to brainstorm gift ideas, order groceries with your voice, or use Alexa Plus in your browser just yet.
There are other features that are still not up to Amazon's standards for public release, as reported by The Washington Post. For instance, Alexa Plus can't order takeout from Grubhub based on conversation context, nor can it recognize family members in your home to remind them about chores. Also, the Kids Plus features, like Stories With Alexa, are not available.
Currently, Alexa Plus is only compatible with Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 devices. According to Amazon's early access page, the assistant can perform tasks like ordering an Uber, identifying objects, drafting emails, and searching for specific products.

At launch, Alexa Plus can summarize uploaded documents, but Amazon is still working on the feature to delete these files. In the meantime, Amazon suggests contacting Customer Service to have the original attachments removed.
Amazon announced Alexa Plus back in February, and it's available on most Echo devices for $19.99 per month, or free with a Prime membership. You can sign up on Amazon's website to get notified about early access to Alexa Plus. "We're releasing a bunch of features to start, and we'll continue to launch new features in waves," Schmidt explained.

I'm kinda hyped about Alexa Plus, but only for a few people? Lame! Still, the AI upgrade sounds dope—hope it’s not just another fancy timer. 😎 Anyone else think Amazon’s playing catch-up with ChatGPT?
I was hyped for Alexa Plus, but only a few people get to try it? Kinda disappointing that it’s missing some features too. Still, curious to see how it stacks up against other AI assistants! 😎
