AI Giants Deliver Strong Performance; Meitu Paid User Count Breaks Record; Productivity Tools Power Growth

Mitu Corporation released its Q1 2026 business results on May 6. The report highlights that accelerated commercialization of AI applications drove significant growth across key business metrics. Notably, paid subscription users reached a record high of 17.9 million, underscoring strong demand for high-value digital content and tools.
Financially, revenue from Mitu's subscription-focused image and design products reached 852 million yuan, a 34.3% increase year over year. While lifestyle applications still accounted for 82% of revenue, productivity tools targeting professional users are showing strong growth potential, contributing around 18% of total revenue.
Importantly, Mitu's investments in the productivity sector are now paying off. As of March 2026, the annual recurring revenue (ARR) of its AI productivity applications approached 580 million yuan, growing 56.2% year over year. This growth is driven by improvements in both user activity and depth of technology usage—for instance, AI computing power consumed by image and design products in March 2026 increased by 59% compared to December 2025.
Analysts note that the surge in computing power consumption not only reflects the popularity of AI features but also signals meaningful progress in Mitu's transformation from a mass-market beauty tool to a professional productivity platform. As AI algorithms continue to evolve and application scenarios expand, Mitu's commercialization opportunities are expected to grow further.
