AI Compute Startup Nscale Raises $2B Series C at $14.6B Valuation

The story of Nscale, a UK-based GPU cloud computing startup, continues to gain momentum. The company today announced the completion of a $2 billion Series C funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $14.6 billion. According to Nscale, this may be the largest single funding round in European history.
Founded in 2024 as a spin-off from an Australian Bitcoin mining company, Nscale has rapidly emerged as a key player in AI infrastructure. In less than two years, it has entered the global race for computing power by building data centers and operating cloud services.
The round was led by Aker USA and 8090 Industries, with additional backing from chip giant Nvidia, along with Nokia, Lenovo, Citadel, and Dell.
With this capital infusion, Nscale has added several Silicon Valley veterans to its board, including former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, former Meta President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg, and former Yahoo President Susan Decker.
Nscale has committed to delivering 200,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs to Microsoft, with deployment across data centers in Texas, Portugal, the UK, and Norway.
The company plans to use the new funds to accelerate infrastructure development in Europe, North America, and Asia. CEO Josh Payne stated that AI will permeate every industry and role over the next five years, and Nscale aims to be the driving force behind this industrial revolution.
