9 US AI Startups Secure $100M+ Funding in 2025

Last year marked a significant milestone for the AI industry in the U.S. and globally. According to our tally at TechCrunch, 49 startups secured funding rounds of $100 million or more in 2024. Remarkably, three companies managed to close more than one "mega-round," and seven achieved funding rounds exceeding $1 billion.

Looking ahead to 2025, it's still early days, but the trend is promising. Nearly double-digit U.S. AI companies have already raised over $100 million, and one company has even surpassed the $1 billion mark.

Here's a rundown of the U.S. AI companies that have raised more than $100 million so far this year:

March

  • On March 3, AI research and large language model company Anthropic announced a massive $3.5 billion Series E round, valuing the startup at $61.5 billion. The round was led by Lightspeed, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst, and others.

February

  • Together AI, focused on open-source generative AI and AI model development infrastructure, closed a $305 million Series B round on February 20. The round, which valued the company at $3.3 billion, was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, with additional investment from Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, Lux Capital, and others.
  • Lambda, an AI infrastructure company, announced a $480 million Series D round on February 19, valuing the startup at nearly $2.5 billion. The round was co-led by SGW and Andra Capital, with participation from Nvidia, G Squared, ARK Invest, and others.
  • Abridge, an AI platform that transcribes patient-clinician conversations, secured a $250 million Series D round on February 17, valuing the company at $2.75 billion. The round was co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, with participation from Lightspeed, Redpoint, Spark Capital, and others.
  • Eudia, an AI legal tech company, raised $105 million in a Series A round led by General Catalyst on February 13. Floodgate, Defy Ventures, Everywhere Ventures, and other VC firms, along with numerous angel investors, also participated.
  • EnCharge AI, an AI hardware startup, closed a $100 million Series B round on February 13. The round was led by Tiger Global, with participation from Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, RTX Ventures, and others. Founded in 2022, the company is based in Santa Clara.
  • Harvey, another AI legal tech company, announced a $300 million Series D round on February 12, valuing the 3-year-old company at $3 billion. The round was led by Sequoia, with participation from OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil, and others.

January

  • ElevenLabs, a synthetic voice startup, raised a $180 million Series C round on January 30, valuing the company at over $3 billion. The round was co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia, NEA, Salesforce Ventures, and others.
  • Hippocratic AI, which develops large language models for the healthcare industry, announced a $141 million Series B round on January 9, valuing the company at more than $1.6 billion. The round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, General Catalyst, and others.

This article has been updated to clarify that Abridge was founded in Pittsburgh, but is not currently based there.

So the AI money train keeps rolling... 9 more unicorns in 2025? Makes you think if we're in a bubble or just the beginning. 🚂

Just saw this. Wow, the amount of funding going into AI is staggering! $100M rounds are becoming almost normal for some startups now, while three getting multiple? That's intense competition and hype. Makes you wonder about the long-term sustainability and if we'll see a shakeout soon, but also exciting for the tech that might emerge from this capital furnace 🔥 The 'mega-round' chase is real.

It's wild to see so many AI startups raking in massive funding! 😮 Makes me wonder which ones will actually change the game and which are just riding the hype wave.
