Tencent launched the Tencent Hy Translation app on September 24, leveraging its open-source Hy-MT2 model. The app supports 33 languages including five Chinese minority dialects and offers voice, photo, and offline translation. It is available in 12 regions including the US, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The underlying Hy-MT2 model, open-sourced in May, significantly improves multi-language instruction following and professional translation accuracy compared to previous versions, enabling stable offline use without internet connectivity.
