Anthropic's molecular biology lab used 950 AI agents to discover a new enzyme system, Array-Linked Reverse Transcriptase (ART), from bacteriophage DNA. The AI autonomously handled literature review, sequence alignment, and screening, while humans verified the findings via wet-lab experiments.
