OpenAI announced on September 10 that ChatGPT Voice mode now lets users select models and reasoning depth, with Pro plans accessing GPT-5.6 Sol or GPT-6 Astra. Each voice interaction counts as a message to the underlying model. The company simplified GPT-Live usage limits by tier, providing up to 3 hours for Go and Plus, 15 hours for the $100 Pro plan, and unlimited use for the $200 Pro plan. After quota exhaustion, Plus and Pro users no longer downgrade to GPT-Live mini, and the three previous voice intelligence levels have been discontinued.
