Australian AI infrastructure firm Firmus has secured a multi-year strategic partnership with OpenAI, which will serve as its anchor customer. Under the agreement, OpenAI will purchase dedicated computing power from Firmus' AI factories in Malaysia. This collaboration brings Firmus' total signed computing capacity to over 900 megawatts. Firmus operates seven AI factories across Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, with two already operational and five under construction. The facilities will deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems and DSX AI Factory platforms, supported by Firmus' HyperCube liquid-cooling infrastructure, to meet growing Asia-Pacific demand.
