Google is testing new upgrades for its Gemini app, aiming to transform it from a basic AI chat tool into a comprehensive platform integrating task management, app ecosystems, and intelligent agents. Developers at Android Authority identified the changes by decompiling version 17.52.12.sa.arm64. The updates focus on improving chat efficiency, with pinned chats likely to appear above the recent conversations list for faster access, a new search bar at the top of the sidebar featuring a magnifying glass icon, and added filters on the recently used page to locate chats by status such as unread or in progress. A dedicated notifications section is also in testing, with a bell icon planned to show task and activity reminders centrally. For Gemini Spark, an upcoming customize page will allow users to manage skills, app connections, and browse recommended content by category while controlling the visibility of the background status bar icon. The features are not yet officially released.
