The popular AI code editor Cursor has launched Origin, a new code hosting service now available for early testing to users on its paid plans. The platform integrates core development tools such as repository creation, pull requests, and code browsing, and supports two-way synchronization with GitHub as well as bidirectional synchronization of comments and code reviews. It has also connected with Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite during testing, with further AI agent features planned to enhance developers’ coding and collaboration workflows. This move is intended to help Cursor compete in the mainstream development ecosystem and become an alternative to GitHub.
