US Commerce Department lifted restrictions on OpenAI's GPT-5.6, approving public release. OpenAI announced GPT-5.6 Sol model will launch Thursday alongside Terra and Luna. Previously limited to government-approved entities due to national security, the model passed rigorous tests by the AI Standards and Innovation Center.
