SpaceX has applied to the FCC for a third-generation satellite constellation of 100,000 satellites, nearly ten times larger than the current Starlink system. It aims to become the foundational communication network for the AI era, supporting global internet traffic with two orbital shells, new frequency bands (W and D), and capacity for billions of devices, enabling a closed-loop space communication and ground AI ecosystem.
