Microsoft plans to switch its Copilot billing to pay-per-use and is evaluating a micro-optimized version of DeepSeek V4 to cut costs. DeepSeek V4 Pro costs about $0.87 per million output tokens, far cheaper than Anthropic’s $50. A decision is expected within weeks, with models hosted on Azure for security.
