Global data center water consumption will double by 2030 due to AI growth, a UN report warns. Last year centers used 448 terawatt-hours of electricity and 45 trillion liters of water, emitting 189 million tons of CO2. By 2030, electricity demand could hit 945 TWh, water use 9.3 trillion liters, and CO2 emissions 399 million tons, with AI accounting for 40% of power use.
