Microsoft plans to partner with AI firm Anthropic, supplying its custom Maia 200 AI chip to boost competitiveness. Anthropic, facing compute shortages despite a $3 billion Azure commitment, currently relies on NVIDIA GPUs and also uses Amazon and Google cloud services. The collaboration aims to address Anthropic's growing compute needs.
