Apple plans to allow users to select third-party AI models, like Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude, to power smart features in upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. This "Extensions" feature breaks from the exclusive ChatGPT partnership. The App Store will have a dedicated area for compatible AI apps, and Siri will get new voices for differentiation. The update also includes deeper Siri integration into the Camera app and upgrades to Photos AI tools and Wallet.
