YouTube’s TV changes include a redesign and more multiview
YouTube Expands Multiview Beyond Sports—Here’s What’s Coming
Love the idea of watching multiple streams at once but wish it wasn’t just for March Madness or NFL Sunday Ticket? Good news—YouTube is rolling out a customizable multiview feature for non-sports content, and it’s coming soon to YouTube TV subscribers.
Build Your Own Multiview Experience
YouTube confirmed that in the next few weeks, a small group of testers will be able to mix and match select non-sports channels in multiview. The company plans to expand the feature to more networks and content genres over time.
When asked if any networks opted out, YouTube spokesperson Allison Toh told The Verge that the goal is to make multiview available across a wide variety of channels. So whether you're into news, gaming, or reality TV, you might soon be able to watch it all at once.

Alongside multiview, YouTube is redesigning its TV app to make navigation smoother. Expect:
- Simplified browsing (think Netflix-style layout)
- Better playback controls
- Easier access to comments, channel info, and subscriptions
The Information previously reported that YouTube might highlight paid subscriptions on the homepage—a smart move, considering more people now watch YouTube on TVs than phones.
Speed Up Your Binge-Watching
For YouTube Premium subscribers, 4x playback speed is finally rolling out on iOS and Android. The feature, first tested in January, lets you blaze through videos at lightning speed—perfect for catching up on long tutorials or podcasts.
What’s Next?
With Netflix also revamping its homepage, the streaming wars are heating up. Will YouTube’s new features give it an edge? Only time will tell.
