Today's AI-powered browsers haven't yet reached their full potential to handle complex, multi-step workflows autonomously. However, developers are making strides by introducing smart features that streamline repetitive tasks through customizable prompt shortcuts.
The Browser Company's innovative Arc competitor, Dia, introduced its "skills" functionality that transforms natural language prompts into executable browser commands. For example, users can request event recommendations for their area and save these queries as reusable shortcuts. While early adopters previously shared these prompts through community forums, The Browser Company has now launched version 0.1 of an official skills gallery with categorized, shareable commands.

Meanwhile, Perplexity's upcoming Comet browser is developing comparable automation features. CEO Aravind Srinivas recently previewed planned functionality that will include pre-built shortcuts for common actions like tab management, meeting preparation, and social media trend monitoring.
