Meta's AI agent Muse was heavily inspired by OpenClaw, according to product manager Nat Friedman. After community members noted identical system files and configuration settings between the two, Friedman admitted Muse was influenced by OpenClaw's design but built from scratch. He praised OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger, stating the original approach was correct. The goal was to make such personal agents safe, reliable, and scalable for billions of users.
