OpenAI will remove GPT-5.5 from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex across all subscription plans starting October 14. Users currently relying on GPT-5.5 in Codex are urged to migrate to GPT-5.6 Sol or GPT-6 Astra. The model, launched on April 24, was noted for reduced token consumption compared to GPT-5.4.
