AI workflow startup Relay has ceased operations, with its paid services shutting down on September 14 and free services discontinued in mid-August. The company was founded in 2021 aiming to become a next-generation Zapier by using AI to streamline workflows for businesses and individuals. Founder Jacob Bank, who previously built Timeful and led multiple Google products, is returning to the firm as vice president of product for the Chrome team, where he will lead Chrome product development and developer relations. The move is seen as part of Google’s push to strengthen its AI strategy within the browser, as it integrates advanced AI technologies like Gemini across its products, with future integration of intelligent agents and automated features being a key industry focus.
