ByteDance’s smart assistant Doubao has launched a new “Work Tasks” mode featuring a remote control computer function. Users only need to complete a simple authorization step via the app to remotely access their linked computer, handling desktop tasks across devices. The feature supports retrieving and editing local files, converting file formats, generating summaries and charts, and enabling cross-device collaboration with multiple computers linked from a single phone. The setup process requires updating Doubao to the latest version, logging in with the same account, selecting the mode, choosing an operating environment, and completing SMS verification. Industry analysts say it addresses the need for professionals to handle urgent tasks when away from their computers, advancing smart assistant cross-terminal collaboration capabilities and poised to become a standard for mobile office use.
