A Nanjing court has upheld a ruling against Baidu for defamation via its AI-generated content. The platforms AI feature falsely stated lawyer Li Xiaoliang was imprisoned. The court rejected Baidus defense of AI hallucination as unavoidable, ordering a written apology. As Baidu failed to comply, enforcement proceedings have now been initiated.
